Hardware & Connectivity Requirements – EC-Council Support Forums

To ensure you can successfully access and complete lab modules or CTF challenges, please review the following device and network requirements.

✅ Device Requirements

Supported Operating Systems
- Windows 7 or later
- Ubuntu 14.04 or later
- macOS 10.12 or later
- ChromeOS/Chromebooks are not officially supported and can cause rendering issues.
Supported Browsers
- Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (latest versions recommended)
Recommended Device Type
- Laptop or desktop computer (tablet/smartphone not recommended)
- If using a corporate or government-issued laptop with VPN:
  - Launch the test lab before the event.
  - If you cannot connect, please contact your IT group or use a different device.

Minimum Bandwidth
- 200 kbps per student (with 1 Mbps burst)
- Recommended: 1 Mbps per student
- At large events: 5 Mbps per user
Network Access
- Secure WebSockets over HTTPS ports 443 and 43443 must be allowed
- RDP may use ports 21xxx or 443
- Venue WiFi should be WiFi 6 or newer, with dedicated access points per room
Firewall/Proxy Exceptions
- Whitelist these domains:
  - *.skillable.com
  - *.labondemand.com
  - *.learnondemand.net
  - *.holsystems.com
