AWS Sign-In – “Account does not exist”

Course Module: Any lab that requires AWS login.
Platform Affected: AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Error Message:

An AWS account with that sign-in information does not exist.

🧩 Description

When attempting to sign in to AWS using credentials, users receive an error stating that the account does not exist.

🧠 Root Cause

This error occurs when students do not complete the AWS Free Tier account creation process correctly or are attempting to log in with incorrect or unregistered credentials.

The lab instructions require each student to:

  • Sign up for a personal AWS Free Tier account

  • Use their own valid email address

  • Confirm the account via email verification

Failure to complete any part of this process will result in sign-in errors.

✅ Resolution Steps

  1. Verify account creation:

    • Confirm that you received a verification email from AWS.

    • Ensure the account has been fully activated and credentials are valid.

  2. Double-check the email address:

    • Sign in with the exact email used during registration.

    • Avoid copy-paste errors or typos.

  3. If account creation was not completed, start the process again at:

💡 Additional Notes

  • AWS account creation is a required step and is not pre-configured in the lab.

  • EC-Council is not able to provide AWS accounts or recover personal AWS credentials.
