Lab Platform Migration Overview

In April 2024, EC-Council had announced exciting news regarding enhancements and upgrades to the CyberQv1 lab platform. This included an updated user interface and a new Cloud Service Provider (CSP) for better performance and global scalability!

As a result, CyberQv1 has been discontinued and users have been migrated to the upgraded platform. To get you back on track, we would like to offer existing users* the opportunity to migrate their cyber range experience over to the upgraded platform for free! Users will have access to many current and new features since all labs will be launched from the new platform moving forward.

Moving to the new platform is a quick and easy process. Simply, register your account with your course Training Key. This key provides you with a new assignment to the course labs you already purchased and activated in CyberQv1. This also means extended lab access!

Register Without a Training Key

  • Click here to access the login page.
  • Click Create an Account and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Once your account has been created, you can add your courses by redeeming training keys here.

I don't have an account on the new platform

This procedure is intended for users that are not registered on the new platform AND have a training key.

  • Enter your training key into the training key field. Do not enter more than one training key in this field.

πŸ”‘If you have more than one training key, redeem the others after registration has been completedπŸ”‘

  • Fill out each field as needed - see screenshot below ⬇️⬇️
  • Toggle notifications on or off.
  • Click Save when finished βœ…

  • After key sign-up, you'll be taken directly to your course or competition challenge(s).
  • On the course assignment page (screenshot below), select a lab module or challenge and then click Launch to begin.

⚠️If you're competing in a live CTF event, do not launch any challenges until prompted by your event host or instructor

 

  • βŒ›The lab environment will take a few minutes to load depending on network conditions and platform congestion.
  • A successful lab launch πŸš€ will display following interface:
    The player console area (Virtual Machine) on the left and the lab guide on the right. 

πŸ—’οΈNote: Not all challenges will have a lab guide, this will depend on the difficulty of the challenge and your organization's requirements.

I'm already registered on the new platform

This process is used for existing platform users that need to redeem a training key.

  1. Log into your account here.
  2. Navigate to Current Training > Click Redeem a Training Key.

  3. Enter the key within the training key field > Click Redeem Training Key.
  4. The platform will route you to the corresponding lab modules. Click on any available module to begin.

My Training Key Does Not Work

Error: The selected training key could not be validated. Please try again.

There can be multiple reasons you are unable to redeem a Training Key.

Check each of the steps below:

  1. Confirm the key was entered correctly and ensure there are no extra characters or spaces.
  2. Training Keys are case sensitive, check that all characters are properly cased.
  3. Check that you are logged into the proper account. Some users are registered more than once.
  4. Verify you are using the links provided with your training key, especially if you are training with a new Organization.
  5. Training keys are only redeemed once: they do not need to be used each time a student tries to access training.

If the issue persists, please contact the support team and request a update/review of your account's organization, since it is possible the key belongs to a different org. In some cases, a new training key will be provided.

Migration Eligibility

Existing users that have already purchased/enrolled in at least one course. New users will likely already have access or will be directed to the upgraded platform since they were not previously launching labs from CyberQv1. Please contact the support team to see if you are eligible for migration or if you have additional questions.
